I’m Gabriela Namie, a designer and art director based in New York. I’ve spent the last 15 years using systematic creative thinking to craft visuals and help brands come to life.
What I do
I currently work at Google as Seed Studio’s Visual Lead, managing the visual design team. I help guide the direction, strategy, and visuals for multiple projects. Craft, process and well-being are equally important to me.
What I did
My work has been recognized by different awards and countries/ including Art Director’s Club Young Guns 19, Latin American Awards, London International Creative Competition, A’Awards, Indigo Awards, the Brazilian Graphic Design Biennial, etc. I studied graphic and type design︎︎︎, and worked with branding in multiple environments, from small studios to large agencies in São Paulo and New York. When I decided to freelance, that naturally evolved into co-founding Studio Barca ︎︎︎. After some years leading the studio, I moved to New York to work as a Senior Designer at Sagmeister & Walsh︎︎︎ and then at Google as YouTube Music’s art director. After leading YouTube Music for 4 years, I decided to take a new challenge within Google at Seed Studio.
